Business agent revenues dominated by service fees
Business travel agents earn more than 50% of revenues through service fees, an Amadeus survey has shown.
It revealed 52.5% is generated from fees, almost 28% from commission and 20% from volume bonuses.
The survey also showed that business travel agencies average 1,172 tickets per full time employee per year.
Meanwhile, 40% of an agencies total cost goes on core reservation processes with the processes involved in selling each ticket averaging £32.60.
The study also looked at consolidators. It revealed they average 1,410 tickets per employee with the business processes costing an average of £23.10 and accounting for 44% of total costs.
