Business booming at Libya’s first five-star hotel
Business leaders have reportedly been “flocking” to Libya’s first-ever five-star hotel to find out more about how the country is embracing capitalism.
The BBC News website reports that business is booming at the Maltese-owned Corinthia hotel, which is not only Libya’s first real luxury hotel but also the first business enterprise in the country that accepts credit cards alongside cash.
The BBC also reports that the new hotel will be important in the development of Libya’s tourism industry – a group of American tourists is due to stay at the Corinthia later this year.
As reported by News From Abroad in recent weeks, Libya has plenty to offer visitors including the massive Roman remains at Leptis Magna, as well as hundreds of miles of pristine coastline.
