Business goes to Orbitz
Verizon Wireless has named Orbitz for Business as its Internet Travel Management Solution.
Orbitz is a unit of Cendant Corporate Solutions Group, while Verizon Wireless terms itself the US’s leading wireless service provider.
Said David Falter, president, Cendant Corporate Travel Solutions Group:
“Cendant Corporate Travel Solutions has quickly gained acceptance by industry leaders such as Verizon Wireless who want to shift to online booking and still receive great customer service.”
Orbitz for Business has been chosen by various large and small companies for their travel management needs. They include McDonald’s, Knight-Rider, Ace Hardware and Sybase.
Orbitz for Business is the first full-service, internet travel management program, according to Mr Falter.
Company officials say Orbitz was chosen for its ability to decrease travel costs while providing an enhanced Web-based alternative travel reservation system for business travelers.
Mr Falter said the company offers lower transaction costs, lower average ticket price prices, but retains access to a wide choice of low fares and rates.
