Business travellers pine for home comforts
Business travellers pine for home comforts and someone to share a drink with as they slip into a Alan Partridge lifestyle when they stay in hotels, according to a survey.
Going without the luxuries of home life was the worst aspect of staying in a hotel for 27% of business travellers while a quarter said loneliness troubled them more than anything else.
A further 12% said the impersonal atmosphere of a hotel was hard to deal with while one in ten said the biggest bugbear was being unable to control the temperature of a room.
To underline the basic facilities of some rooms, three out of ten travellers said they have had to eat a meal on their bed with 38% forced to work from their bed.
The survey was carried out by The Chambers, a serviced apartment in Leeds. Its website can be found at www.morethanjustabed.com.
