CAA suspends Omega Travel’s ATOL
Tour operator and flight consolidator Omega Travel has had its ATOL licence suspended by the Civil Aviation Authority.
The CAA has not given a reason for the suspension, which has been in place since Monday.
Milton Keynes-based Omega Travel was licensed to sell just over 4,000 holidays a year.
It is part of the Omega Travel Group and operates under multiple brand names including China Travel Shop, Far East Travel Centre, Budget Travel, Travel Sky, Jade Travel and Omega Travel.
According to Companies House, the business was incorporated in 1999. It has one director, Shengpo Chen, who lives in Shanghai.
Its website says it has branches in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Edinburgh as well as Milton Keynes.
A CAA spokesman said: A spokesperson for the UK Civil Aviation Authority, said: "We can confirm that we suspended Omega Travel’s ATOL licence on Monday 3 September 2018. This means that while the ATOL is suspended, the company cannot sell any ATOL protected holidays or flights. Consumers who purchased an ATOL protected trip before the suspension can be assured that their trip is fully protected and are advised to contact Omega Travel to confirm arrangements."
