Cadogan ponders new technology
Cadogan Holidays is planning to invest in a new technology system to bring it up to date with changes in the way holidays are distributed and booked.
The operator has recognised that with challenges from new entrants as well as the ongoing dynamic packaging trend it needs to stay on top of technology developments.
Managing director Tom Allen said: “Lots of companies are looking at investing in new systems at the moment. In years to come whatever way we distribute will have to be driven by technology. Our suppliers will be able to provide us with all the components technologically so we all have to have the right systems in place.”
Allen added that the existence of online companies with ‘no baggage’ made it crucial to make the right decision on new technology and that selecting the right people was also key.
“It’s a bit like with cars. When your computer breaks down you have got to find someone you know can fix it. It’s so important to get together with people you can work with and trust.”
Cadogan has just launched an online booking facility for agents enabling them to book flexible duration stays across the entire programme.
The service also provides agents with access to a range of scheduled, charter and low-cost flights from UK airports. The online booking facility can be accessed through a password-protected section of www.cadoganholidays.com
The agents’ area has also been enhanced with a brochure ordering facility as well as a facility to download posters and flyers.
The main site now has an ‘explore our world’ interactive map enabling users to drill right down from country to resort and hotel.
