Cambodia Airways launches Penang flights
Cambodia Airways has marked the launch of flights to the Malaysia holiday island of Penang from Phnom Penh.
Cambodia becomes the sixth ASEAN country with direct air links to Penang.
The route operates twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.
“This route not only creates a new aerial corridor linking Penang with an ASEAN neighbour, but also highlights Penang’s growing strategic role in the regional aviation network,” Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai said.
Wong said the new route is a boost for the ongoing development of Penang’s MICE tourism sector.
“Improved air connectivity not only offers greater convenience for delegates, business travellers and professionals, but also reinforces Penang’s position as a regional MICE hub in Southeast Asia.”
