Canadian carrier increases capacity from Glasgow
Air Transat has responded to rising demand from Scottish travellers by increasing capacity by 12% on services from Glasgow this summer.
The Canadian leisure carrier is introducing larger aircraft on its services from Glasgow, with the vast majority of flights this summer to be operated by Airbus A330.
It will offer five flights a week to Toronto and a weekly flight to Vancouver, and up to five connecting flights each week to Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver.
Lesley Kane, sales director, UK & Ireland, said: "Scottish travellers are taking off for Canada in record numbers this year, and we’re introducing larger aircraft to cater for this big increase in demand.
"2017 not only marks Canada’s 150th anniversary, but also a quarter century of Air Transat services from Glasgow, and we’re delighted to be the carrier of choice for tens of thousands of Scots again this year."
