Luxury hotel brand Capella is checking in to Thai capital Bangkok.

Capella’s luxury all-suites concept will anchor the landmark Chao Phraya Estate being developed by partner Country Group Development.

Following the official topping off ceremony this week the hotel is expected to open in summer 2018.

The hotel will comprise 101 suites and river villas with views of the Chao Phraya river.

Amenities planned include a bar, two restaurants and function space with a riverfront ballroom.

"Our Bangkok property will showcase the rich heritage of its location while delivering the unique style and authentic experiences our discerning guests have come to expect," said Nicholas Clayton, CEO of Capella Hotel Group Asia.

Capella will also open in Shanghai this spring and in Ubud, Bali later this year.

Capella will be the second luxury hospitality brand at Chao Phraya Estate following the recent announcement of a new Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok and Private Residences.
