Caribbean Travel Marketplace going virtual this year
Caribbean Travel Marketplace will be a virtual happening this year.
Pushed back to 11-14 May, it will go fully virtual for its 39th edition.
Although there will be no face-to-face interactions, organizers are promising more time for engagement between travel advisors, tourism operators, media and other partners.
"This virtual edition of Marketplace provides access to the world with no restrictions, and opens the event to a broader audience as the logistics of travel are removed, thereby facilitating further connectivity and networking," said Vanessa Ledesma, acting Director General and CEO of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA).
"There will be pre-Marketplace components that will help global buyers to gain a better understanding of the destinations and suppliers, and to receive briefings on entry requirements and safety protocols," Ledesma added.
In its new virtual format, the event will last four days.
The longer duration allows for ‘supplemental elements without impacting the core buying and selling appointments.’
Events will be scheduled to accommodate delegates in multiple time zones, and pre-scheduled appointments will allow for more than one representative per company.
"We are ready to showcase the region and our diverse product offerings to the world virtually," Ledesma said.
