Carlson CEO quits for new job
Hubert Joly, the CEO of hospitality giant Carlson, is leaving to become the CEO of Best Buy.
Carlson, the parent of Radisson, Park Plaza, and Country Inns & Suites, has announced that Joly will be replaced by Trudy Rautio, its former executive vice president and chief financial and administrative officer.
Chairman Marilyn Carlson Nelson said: “With Hubert Joly’s leadership through some very difficult financial times, Carlson is on strong financial footing. Hubert was hired as Carlson’s first non-family CEO and we are grateful for his contributions to our company.”
The change comes as the group’s hotel division, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, plans to increase its portfolio by at least 50% to reach at least 1,500 hotels in operation by 2015.
