Carlson Rezidor hotel group expanding India portfolio
US-based hospitality group Carlson Rezidor plans to add up add 3,000 new rooms in India over the next three to four years.
The company’s presence in the country has so far been limited to major metro areas, and now it plans to expand into second-tier cities.
Not specific details are yet forthcoming, but said it would open up to 28 new hotels across its major brands.
Carlson’s brand portfolio includes Quorvus Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson Red, Park Plaza and Park Inn under Radisson, and Country Inns & Suites under Carlson.
"The current portfolio is a good mix of franchisee-run and managed hotels," said Raj Rana, CEO, South Asia.
He said company strategy is to have at least one property in each state capital in the country.
The group currently has 73 operating hotels in India with about 9,000 rooms across various brands.
