Carnival confirms TUI talks
Cruise giant Carnival Corporation has confirmed holding talks with Thomson’s German parent TUI.
The world’s largest cruise conglomerate declined elaborate on the nature of the discussions.
But Carnival dismissed media speculation that it involved distribution of its German cruise arm AIDA.
The Carnival statement said: “Carnival Corporation has confirmed that it has held discussions with TUI AG and those discussions are continuing.
“However, the nature of the discussions has been incorrectly reported by various German media as they do not involve exclusive distribution of any of Carnival’s cruise products.”
The statement added that should current discussions lead to an agreement with TUI, Carnival will immediately announce details.
