Carnival Cruise Line resuming calls to Grand Bahama
Carnival Cruise Line is ready to resume sailings to Grand Bahama from tomorrow.
Carnival Pride is set to dock in Freeport, followed by Carnival Elation and Carnival Freedom next week.
"Cruise ship visits are important to the local economy and our shore excursion team has been working closely with local tour operators," said Terry Thornton, Carnival’s SVP of nautical and port operations.
Carnival says it expects to complete 39 port calls in Freeport by the end of the year.
"The rebuilding of Grand Bahama has begun. We welcome the return of Carnival Cruise Line back to Grand Bahama after Hurricane Dorian," said Senator James Kwasi Malik Thompson, minister of state for Grand Bahama.
Carnival Corp and the Micky and Madeleine Arison Family Foundation had pledged $2 million towards Bahamas relief efforts, and a further $500,000 has been raised through employee and guest donations.
