Carnival Cruise Lines’ sales chief poached by rival
Carnival Cruise Lines’ US-based sales and marketing chief Vicki Freed is joining rival Royal Caribbean International.
Her switch comes after almost 30 years with Carnival where she has been senior vice-president sales and marketing for 15 years.
She becomes senior vice-president of sales for Royal Caribbean International, taking charge of the line’s 345-strong sales force in North America.
Reporting to the line’s president and CEO Adam Goldstein, Freed’s responsibilities include trade support and services, reservations, group sales, customer service and loyalty programmes.
Goldstein said: “Vicki’s passionate support of travel agents has been well chronicled and recognised. She will be a great asset to our brand as we continue to grow.”
Freed is a former first female chairman of the Cruise Line International Association, the marketing and agent training arm of the North American cruise industry.
