Carnival launches club for wine-lowers
Carnival Cruise Lines launched its Presidential Wine Club, which it calls the cruise industry’s first affinity group for wine-lovers.
Members receive two bottles of select boutique wines each month, and have access to an on-line wine information and communication resource.
“With the Presidential wine Club, we are doing for wine what Carnival did for the cruise experience — demystifying it,” said Carnival CEO Bob Dickinson, himself a wine connoisseur.
Mr Dickinson says many of the available wines will be coming from small boutique wineries located in the world’s great grape producing regions of California, France, Italy, Spain, Chile, Argentina and Australia.
Membership will be primarily marketed to Carnival Cruise Line guests, but others can also join.
