Carnival UK in top level shake-up

Tuesday, 01 Jul, 2004 0

Carnival UK has switched around senior management to reflect a doubling in the size of the business in four years.

The board level changes create three distinct reporting lines into managing director David Dingle – commercial, product delivery and business strategy and services.

As a result, Peter Shanks moves from Cunard to become managing director of Ocean Village, succeeding Nick Lighton, who becomes fleet management director across all brands.

Carol Marlow, managing director of Swan Hellenic and UK director of  Princess Cruises, takes on the additional role of EMEA director for Cunard, replacing Mr Shanks.

Nigel Esdale retains his role as P&O Cruises commercial director, with responsibility for the Complete Cruise Solution sales function.

Chief strategic and financial officer Ed Jones takes on the additional responsibilities covering IT.

Mr Dingle said: “These changes will allow us to place a maximum emphasis on strategic development and business efficiency whilst strong focus on customer service and operational delivery.”
