Carnival unveils extended cruise itineraries from Galveston
Carnival Cruise Lines said it will offer longer one-way cruises for the Texas market from next year, with 10- and 11-day sailings from Galveston to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The 11-day itineraries will call at Grand Cayman, Aruba, Grenada, Martinique, St Maarten, finishing in San Juan, and will also include a port call at Bonaire for the first time.
These sailings are scheduled for October 24, 2015, and January 16, 2016.
Departing San Juan, a pair of 10-day journeys stop at St Thomas, St Kitts, St Maarten, Antigua and Grand Turk, sailing on November 4, 2015, and January 27, 2016.
The two itineraries have been designed so there are virtually no overlapping port calls out or back, and can be combined into a longer 21-night round-trip voyage from Galveston that calls at 12 different Caribbean destinations.
Carnival said the introduction of longer duration cruises and more varied port calls was sparked by travel agent feedback.
Carnival’s 2014 Galveston cruises currently sail on four-to-seven day journeys to Mexico and the Caribbean.
