Carnival Vista alters itinerary due to propulsion issue
The Carnival Vista has developed a technical issue which will impact its next sailing departing Galveston at the weekend.
Carnival cruise Line has informed guests by email of changes planned for the June 15 week-long Western Caribbean cruise.
The itinerary included Montego Bay and George Town, Grand Cayman but these calls have been cancelled.
Instead the ship will spend the first two full days at sea and then call at Roatan, Costa Maya and Cozumel before another sea day and then a return to Texas.
A tech issue involving the ship’s propulsion has forced the changes.
"While initial work has begun by the ship’s technical team we will need more time to assess the time frame for the full repair. We will inform our guests if any changes are needed on future sailings," the line said in a statement.
Guests have been promised a $50 onboard credit and a 25% future cruise credit.
Guests may also cancel their booking and receive a full refund.
