South African Airways has become the first African carrier to implement Amadeus’ new generation customer management system, Altea.

The deal will enable SAA to use Altea Sell, a platform for multi-channel sales and reservations, Altea Plan, a system for inventory management and Altea Departure Control System for passenger and flight management at airports.

“Altea will give our staff a system that really supports their ability to offer a personalised, distinctive service to our customers,” said SAA acting CIO Mike Re.
