CDC issues tri-state area travel advisory
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has asked all residents of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut to halt any nonessential travel for the next two weeks.
Although it remains an advisory, the governors of the three states ‘will have full discretion to implement this domestic travel advisory.’
President Trump called it a ‘strong travel advisory’ and admitted he had been mulling a full quarantine of New York City.
The tri-state travel advisory does not apply to ’employees of critical infrastructure industries, including but not limited to trucking, public health professionals, financial services, and food supply.’
NYC is the nation’s coronavirus epicenter with nearly 30,000 cases.
Tri-state residents traveling to Texas, Florida, Maryland and South Carolina must self-isolate for 14 days.
