Celebrate Easter and Passover in Jerusalem in March and April with Greece and Mediterranean Travel Centre
This year the dates of the Christian Holy days of Easter occure on the third week of March followed by the Jewish festival of Passover which starts on 21 April.
There is no more appropriate place on earth to celebrate these festivals than at the focal point of Christianity and Judaism, Jerusalem. [pictured right]
2008 is also Israel’s 60th anniversary of statehood which means that solemn religious festivals will be accompanied by national celebration.

Thousands of Christians visit Jerusalem to celebrate Easter and this week will have a special spiritual atmosphere.
Pilgrims also visit the Cenacle which is the site of the Last Supper and the Gardens of Gethsemene, among the most significant Easter sites in Jerusalem.
Jews have been celebrating Passover since the Exodus from Egypt over 3,200 years ago and Jerusalem has been the centre of celebrations of this significant Jewish festival of liberation.
The Western Wall is traditionally crowded with worshippers during Passover.
