Celebrate the Golden Age at the 15th Route 66 International Mother Road Festival
The Hot Rod Stage. Horsepower Alley. Monet of Cars. These are all part of one of the biggest annual car shows in the USA. The 15th Annual International Route 66 Mother Road Festival roars into the streets of downtown Springfield, Illinois 23-25 September 2016. The Mother Road Festival is the place to be for all car fans, be part of the ultimate driving experience along Route 66, see iconic American Muscle cars and get a taste of real Americana in downtown Springfield.
Come and celebrate the Golden Age of the world famous Route 66. From classic cars, to music and food, the International Route 66 Mother Road Festival features over 1,000 cars and invites over 80,000 spectators. Bring the family, come with friends or be a solo traveller, either way all spectators see the cars and listen to the music for free!
The celebrations begin Friday night, the 23rd September, when cars line up for the City Nights Cruise which will wind its way from Capital City Shopping Centre to the heart of downtown Springfield. While you’re waiting for the cruise-in to arrive, check out the Monet of Cars, an exciting private collection of cool and classic cars. This is a must for all classic car lovers.
It certainly won’t be a quiet weekend! Two stages will keep toes tapping with live music. There’ll be tasty festival food to enjoy while browsing around the cars and taking in the sights. And don’t forget to taste an original deep dish pizza! Kids will also be taken car of with their very own Family Fun Zone featuring bouncy castles, games and more.
