Celebrity adding overnight port calls in Caribbean
From January 2016, Celebrity Cruises will add an extra overnight stay on more than 40 longer Caribbean cruises.
It will affect 43 Caribbean cruises of 10 days or more and will feature overnights in destinations such as St. Maarten, Aruba, Cozumel, Curacao and Barbados, said Dondra Ritzenthaler, senior vice president of sales.
"This gives us the ability to say we have more overnights in the Caribbean than any cruise line in the industry," Ritzenthaler said.
Reservations have been open for the 2016 Caribbean winter season since last year and Ritzenthaler said bookings for these cruises have gone well.
Of the surprise bonus of an extra overnight call, Ritzenthaler said: "lt is a really wonderful gift for these folks and will be something that will be a really nice opportunity for them. We think it will be a differentiator."
"Guests and travel agents love our overnight program in Europe, Asia and around the world, and their feedback has been amazing. This demand led us to revisit our current Caribbean itineraries and add even more overnights in one of the most beautiful places we sail to each year, added Celebrity CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo.
