Celebrity Cruises has become the official cruise partner for the O2 entertainment venue until the end of the year.

The deal will see the cruise line participating in a number of events and marketing initiatives throughout the O2 campus in London.

Commenting on the partnership, Toby Shaw director of marketing and PR for Celebrity Cruises UK & Ireland, said: "There is a strong synergy between Celebrity Cruises and The O2’s VIP brand offer and we are looking forward to increasing our brand profile with consumers throughout the venue as well as using it for meetings, launch events and corporate hospitality for our partners and agents in the coming months."

Paul Samuels, executive vice president for global partnerships at O2 parent company AEG Europe added: "This sort of partner is crucial in helping The O2 shift the dial from a pure play music venue into a premier entertainment destination.

"We are very excited about the possibilities the partnership with Celebrity Cruises will bring to the venue."
