Centara unveils big expansion plans for Vietnam
Thailand based Centara Hotels & Resorts is targeting a major expansion in Vietnam with at least 20 new hotels planned within the next five years.
The company is looking to expand in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Haiphong, Danang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Cam Ranh and Hoi An among other destinations.
"Vietnam’s tourism industry enjoyed a great year in 2018 and we expect this to continue for many years to come. The country is already well on track towards another record-breaking tourism year in 2019," said Centara CEO Thirayuth Chirathivat.
It says there are opportunities for all six of its existing brands which include Centara Grand, Centara Residences & Suites, and Centara Boutique Collection.
It already operates Centara Sandy Beach Resort Danang and its parent company has a number of retail businesses across Vietnam.
Centara has 71 hotels and resorts either open or in development worldwide, comprising more than 13,000 rooms.
