Center Parcs in £60m accommodation upgrade
Center Parcs is to spend £60 million upgrading more than 1,000 of its lodges.
The work, which covers 30% of the company’s capacity, is due to be completed in a year’s time.
The first of the new lodges will open in September at Center Parcs’ four UK sites.
There will be two types of restyled accommodation available – Woodland Lodges and Excecutive Lodges.
In addition, 77 newly re-styled three and four bed Executive Woodland Lodges will be added across the villages – Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, Elveden Forest in Suffolk, Longleat Forest in Wiltshire and Whinfell Forest in Cumbria – each carrying new designs by Tara Bernerd, CEO and founder of interior architecture and design company Target Living.
Center Parcs sales and marketing director Colin Whaley said: “The reason that we chose Target Living is their energetic and striking approach to design and their commitment to absorbing and understanding our guests’ needs.”
Bernerd said: “The biggest hit for those returning to a Center Parcs holiday will be when they first walk-in – as the new lodge represents a complete departure from the previous styling.
“We have brought the essence of the forest inside, we have even covered one whole wall with an iconic landscape image to emphasise this.
“We have really focused on injecting that feeling of outdoors into the lodges. Our colour schemes and styling encourages families to gather around the fire to share their Center Parcs experiences in a contemporary setting.”
