Chalmers named as All-Hotels MD
OTC chief executive, Mark Jones, has appointed Jill Chalmers managing director of All-Hotels Ltd.
Mr Jones told Travelmole that the remaining three board members of All-Hotels have been made redundant, although he said some of them could be included in other OTC projects.
Ms Chalmers will be overseeing the development of All-Hotels’ revenue strategy into the model adopted by OTC, whereby the company receives reduced rates from hotels, and makes its profit from marking up.
Mark Jones (pictured) told TravelMole: “Instead of getting an eight or ten percent commission from hotels, All-Hotels will get a higher margin of 18 or 20 percent by marking up rates. It benefits everyone because the customers will still be paying less than or equal to the rack rate”.
OTC bought All-Hotels in September. Jill Chalmers was previously sales director at All-Hotels, which she joined in 2000. Previously she was sales and marketing director for Skibo Castle in Scotland, and before that was international sales director of Scandinavian hotel chain, Scandic.
