Charter company calls in administrators

Thursday, 04 Dec, 2008 0

Aircraft charter company Flightline Limited has called in administrators and ceased trading.

The closure of the firm, based at Southend airport, has resulted in the loss of more than 200 jobs.

Administrators from KPMG were appointed yesterday and the company’s Air Operating Certificate was suspended by the Civil Aviation Authority.

The company specialised in providing whole aircraft charters.

The collapse left players and staff from Permiership club Portsmouth delayed at Southampton airport when they were due to fly to Germany for a European fixture.

Another aircraft had to be chartered to fly the team out for tonight’s match against Wolfsburg.
