Cheapflights MD leaves after change of ownership
Cheapflights managing director Andrew Shelton has announced his departure from the company as it changes hands.
Shelton joined Cheapflights as marketing director three years ago and was promoted to managing director after a year.
He said he was pleased about Priceline Group’s acquisition this week of Cheapflights’ parent Momondo Group.
Priceline said Cheapflights would operate under Kayak, its own travel search brand.
Momondo Group CEO Hugo Burge has also announced he is leaving.
"I was very pleased by yesterday’s announcement, and am confident that Cheapflights has an exciting future as part of the Kayak family," said Shelton.
He said he was leaving to ‘pursue new opportunities’ but in the meantime will be working with the team to ensure a smooth transition.
"I have found it immensely rewarding to be part of the growth of Cheapflights and see it go from strength to strength over the last three years. This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the business," he added.
