Chelsea signs up Thomas Cook
Thomas Cook Sport has become the official travel partner of Premiership champions Chelsea.
The three-year deal, for an undisclosed sum, begins at the start of the Premiership season.
Thomas Cook Sport will be responsible for all team and officials’ travel in Europe and internationally, corporate travel, day-to-day business travel and supporter travel both in the UK and overseas.
More travel options and services for fans will be made available than in the past, and the new deal means the consolidation of all the travel for Chelsea with one partner, according to Thomas Cook.
The travel group also becomes a platinum sponsor of Chelsea, joining a team of elite brands already associated with the club.
Thomas Cook Sport director Danny Talbot said: ”As the UK’s favourite travel brand we are delighted to be involved in this partnership with one of Europe’s top football teams.
“It not only cements Thomas Cook Sport’s commitment to the sporting industry as a whole, but in particular allows us to offer an unbeatable standard of travel options for fans to support their club across the world alongside providing an excellent service to the Chelsea team and its management.”
Chelsea’s business affairs director Paul Smith said: “Not only will this lead to a better, and more varied, service for the club and its fans but Thomas Cook will also enjoy a deeper relationship with Chelsea through their platinum sponsorship.”
Thomas Cook also acts as a sponsor for Premiership team Manchester City.
