Chinese love affair with Bali grows
The number of Chinese visitors to Bali continues to grow.
According to data released by the provincial statistics agency, the number of Chinese tourists visiting the island in October reached 32,245, an increase of 49% from 21,642 in September.
Chinese tourists contributed 12.6% to total foreign tourist arrivals in Bali that month, which reached 255,021.
From January to October, the total number of Chinese tourists reached 273,684, a rise of 37.7% compared to the same period last year.
The number of European tourists visiting Bali during October decreased, especially from Germany, the UK and France.
The data showed that German arrivals recorded the most significant decrease in October, down by 26.7%, closely followed by British arrivals, down by 26.6%, compared to the previous month.
In an effort to further increase the number of direct arrivals to Bali, national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia plans to operate 16 new routes connecting Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport with domestic and foreign cities next year.
