Chinese official suspended for alleged attack on flight attendant
A Chinese official accused of assaulting a flight attendant in a dispute over hand luggage has been suspended from his post after she blogged about the attack.
Her account was retweeted more than 30,000 times, Shanghai Daily reported, forcing an official inquiry.
Pictures of bruises, scratches and a rip in her uniform received during the alleged assault were also posted online.
News agency Xinhua said the altercation on the China Southern Airlines flight from Hefie to Guangzhou was triggered by an argument over where to place carry-on baggage, because the overhead luggage compartments were full.
The accused has been suspended pending an investigation.
