Chippy, DJ and yoga teacher to front VisitBritain’s new ad campaign
A fish market trader, a local DJ, a yoga teacher, brewer and a seaside chippy owner will be the face of VisitBritain’s new advertising campaign.
The new tourism initiative, designed to tie in with British Tourism Week, focuses on characters rather than destinations and attractions to present a flavour of Britain to the rest of the world.
VisitBritain hopes the personalities will become ambassadors for the best of British.
“We know Britain has an astonishing range of attractions but we also believe that the people of Britain have incredible qualities,†said Mike Bedingfield, Britain marketing director of VisitBritain.
“We want to give the world a glimpse of the personalities they can meet when they holiday or visit Britain.
“Britain is about so much more than the stereo-typed bowler-hat and Beefeater and we want to show our diverse culture and the incredible people who make visiting Britain such a joy
“We are very proud of the being British and we believe the world will be fascinated by these five diverse characters.â€
Five mini documentaries will feature on VisitBritain’s new video channel www.visitbritain.com/videos along with a range of other British tourism related footage.
