Choice Announces New Sales and Marketing Role
Choice Hotels Australasia (CHA) today announced that it has promoted its current Senior Director of Sales, Aileen Cobern, to the newly-created position of Senior Director of Sales and Marketing.
The new position will help the company further improve collaboration between its sales and marketing divisions and ensure each department’s initiatives are focused on achieving common company-wide performance objectives.
Ms Cobern has worked with Flag/Choice Hotels for the past 13 years in various senior sales roles with increasing responsibility. Prior to that, she gained experience at an international advertising agency and with an inbound tour operator.
“Aileen’s proven track record at Flag/Choice and her previous positions in the industry have prepared her perfectly for this expanded role,” said CHA Managing Director David Bayes.
“She will be able to use her vast experience to build CHA’s Comfort, Quality and Clarion brands in the marketplace, while further developing our key partnerships within the travel sector.”
In her new role, Ms Cobern will also manage the CHA strategic relationships with Qantas, American Express, AAA Tourism and third party web sites to continue building business to CHA properties.
CHA’s move to integrate the sales and marketing department follows a decision by Senior Director of Marketing, Chris Rundle, to take up a position with Choice Hotels International’s London office. Mr Rundle departs after seven years with the company in Australia.
