Choice Hotels donating free stays for Hurricane relief
Choice Hotels International Inc. will donate up to 1,250 free hotel nights for first responders, volunteers and families displaced by monster Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
Stays have been donated to the American Red Cross and Boys & Girls Clubs of America to assist those in need with shelter.
Choice said it has more than 130 hotels in the Hurricane Harvey impact area and a further 275 In Florida and the Caribbean, and in both cases most are open and operating as normal.
Furthermore, Choice Privileges members can continue giving loyalty points for cash donations to the American Red Cross.
Up to Tuesday, members had donated more than $250,000, Choice said.
"We’ve been partnering with the American Red Cross and Boys & Girls Clubs of America for years and have seen the positive impact that they have on communities to provide critical, hands-on support to the disaster victims," said Pat Pacious, new CEO of Choice Hotels, who began his first day as chief executive on Tuesday.
"We are also grateful to the many individual Choice Hotels properties across the country who are leading their own fundraising and relief initiatives, as well as the donations from our Choice Privileges loyalty members."
