Choice Hotels International has revamped its guest loyalty program with a host of changes and new benefits.

New perks offered in the Choice Privileges program includes extra rewards for midweek stays.

US travelers can opt for five different options like Fuel Rewards savings at participating Shell locations or Amazon.com credit.

International guests will get 500 bonus points or 100 airline miles when staying for at least one night at a qualifying hotel Sunday through Thursday.

Choice says it is the first hotel company to offer members in-app gift card downloads directly which can be use instantly.

Additionally, earned points no longer have an expiry date as long as members show activity on their account at least once every 18 months.

"The exciting new changes to our Choice Privileges program mark a major milestone in Choice Hotels’ history," said Jamie Russo, loyalty and customer engagement vice president in a statement.

"While many rewards programs continue to decrease the value of benefits for their guests, we’re building a loyalty program that gives more and faster perks to travelers starting right when they join.

Program rewards calculation has also been streamline with all 5,000-plus Choice hotels now earning 10 points for every dollar spent including all its economy and extended stay hotels.
