Choice Hotels unveils findings of European hoteliers survey
A survey of Choice hoteliers across Europe found two thirds don’t think Brexit will have an impact on their business.
The annual European Hotelier Pulse-Check, which assesses over 100 of the group’s hoteliers, found 65% said Britain leaving the EU was unlikely to have any affect on their business.
But 19% believe it might have a negative impact.
When asked about the impact of high security across Europe, 62% thought travellers would come to Europe regardless and believe the extra security gives travellers confidence.
When asked to predict the main industry trend for 2017, 34% of the hoteliers point towards the continued increase in digital, as opposed to traditional advertising, while 18% believed more travellers are likely to book direct via hotel websites.
The survey revealed that 64% of Choice pan-European hoteliers surveyed are entering 2017 with confidence that the hotel sector will likely realize a sustained upturn in 2017, with the same number also confident that room rates will likely continue to perform well.
Choice Hotels Europe operates the Ascend, Clarion, Quality and Comfort brands.
