Choppy seas don’t dampen spirits at TravelMole Regatta – see pictures
Mauritius Tourism Crew aboard J-Dream in the Solent
High winds on the Solent added a touch of drama to the inaugural TravelMole Regatta last week.
The event was organised by TravelMole and sponsored by Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority.
Eight yachts competed – from Pierre et Vacances, Travel2 , Seabourn Cruises, Traveltek, Travelport, Getabed, Rock Insurance and Mauritius – racing from Hamble, near Southampton, to Cowes, on the Isle of Wight.
The winning crew was from Pierre et Vacances, who had invited key partners in the ski market to join them on board. Cathy Rankin from P&V Holidays was delighted with the victory. "We are thrilled to win. It just shows that ski or sea, we can compte with the best."

“We had some really positive feedback from the event and, if anything, the windy conditions added to the enjoyment,” said Graham McKenzie at TravelMole.com.
Mauritius has confirmed its intention to be a key sponsor for next year’s event, but has suggested that the location is switched to somewhere like Cannes, where the seas are a bit calmer!
