CIMTIG establishes new travel marketing awards
A new awards ceremony next year will replace the long-established Travel Advertising Awards.
The CIMTIG Travel Marketing Awards will take place on March 24, 2009 at the Hilton on Park Lane in London.
The awards are designed to recognise marketing excellence in the travel industry and to fully reflect the way travel is marketed to today’s consumer, according to CIMTIG.
The awards will judge campaign strategy, creativity, execution as well as return on investment among a number of other scoring critera.
Categories will be expanded to cover podcasts, vodcasts, web campaigns and public relations while continuing to celebrate and award the very best in direct marketing and advertising.
Full details of the award categories, which will continue to include advertising, will be announced in August.
CIMTIG chairman Hoda Lacy said: “The field of marketing communications is vital to the UK industry and the travel sector consistently produces some of the most powerful and memorable marketing campaigns in British business.
“The CIMTIG Marketing Awards will be a showcase of the crÄ›am de la cream of the British travel industry’s marketing promotions covering every field from advertising to public relations and direct marketing to sales promotionsâ€.
