Cleanliness outpaces price in hotel selection

Saturday, 28 Nov, 2005 0

If you thought visitors booked hotels mostly on the basis of price, you would be wrong, according to a new study.

WeGoPlaces Tourism polled visitors to find price was among the top three considerations, but it trailed behind cleanliness and appearance as the most important.

“One traveler summed it up best by saying that they look for ‘cozy, spacious and attractively decorated’ accommodations,” said WeGo.

The fourth most important factor was the availability of non-smoking rooms.

And what was the least important?

The availability of a fitness center.

WeGoPlaces Tourism is a travel Web site that allows tourist attractions and CVB’s to list at no cost.
