CLIA names new secretary general for Europe
Cruise Lines International Association has appointed Tom Fecke as secretary general for CLIA Europe.
He will join the organisation on January 3, replacing Raphael Von Heereman who has been with CLIA since February 2015.
Fecke began his career as a travel agent and then held various management roles with Galileo/Travelport and Avis Rent-a-Car.
For more than eight years he worked for RCL Cruises as a regional general manager, overseeing the German, Austrian and Swiss markets.
In his previous role, Fecke was managing director of the Travel Industry Club, the business club in Germany and Austria.
At CLIA, Fecke will be responsible for managing the European region and will play a key part in strategically implementing CLIA Global programmes across Europe.
"Tom’s extensive experience in the travel industry makes him a welcome addition to our leadership team," said Cindy D’Aoust, CLIA president and CEO.
"The European cruise market has seen impressive growth over the past few years and I look forward to working with Tom to ensure the future success of the cruise market throughout Europe."
