CMV reveals new name for Pacific Eden
Cruise & Maritime Voyages has re-named Pacific Eden, which has joned its fleet from P&O, Vasco da Gama after the Portuguese explorer.
The name was chosen by members of CMV’s Columbus Club members, who were asked to choose between Vasco da Gama,
Pytheas, Henry Hudson and Amerigo Vespucci.
Christian Verhounig, CEO and Chairman said, "We are grateful to all those Columbus Club members and trade partners who took the time and trouble to vote. From the thousands received, the winner is Vasco da Gama with 46% of the total vote."
The new ship will be deployed and dedicated to both the German and Australasian cruise markets.
During the northern summer (May-October) she will operate under CMV’s German brand, Transocean Kreuzfahrten, homeporting from both Bremerhaven and Kiel, and during the Australian summer season (December-March) from Fremantle (Perth) and Adelaide.
Her maiden voyage will leave Singapore on April 24 on a 46-night cruise.
