Co-founder Paula Turner leaves homeworking group
The Travel Network Group has restructured its Independent Travel Experts business in response to homeworkers’ calls for additional support.
The homeworking division previously operated as a stand-alone business within the Group with its own dedicated team.
But following a strategic review and as it was announced that Paula Turner, a former director of ITE had left the business, the homeworkers are to be given more access to the Group’s central membership, marketing and operations teams.
The Travel Network Group said that Paula had left last week to ‘a role outside the industry’.
She co-founded the homeworking group ITE with Amanda Taylor in September 2011. Amanda left last year to become a florist.
Gary Lewis, group managing director of The Travel Network Group, said Lisa Henning, group membership services director, would continue to have overall responsibility for the Independent Travel Experts business reporting to him.
Stephen Evans, who comes from a homeworking background has joined the Business Development team and Alison Owens has been appointed operations manager reporting to Mrs Henning.
The restructure is expected to attract new members to both its Worldchoice and Travel Trust Association membership models.
Gary Lewis said:"We would like to take this opportunity to thank Paula for all her hard work in helping to make our Homeworking division the success it is today.
"Over the past 12 months we have achieved great momentum across all of our membership brands, and today have a great team of very profitable and successful Homeworkers, many with a string of awards behind them.
"We are now at a time where additional resources at the centre will help the team spend more of their time on servicing new and existing customers, and with greater access to our central Membership, Marketing and Operations teams, they will have additional support to help them grow their individual businesses.
"We have close personal relationships with all of our Homeworkers, and additional support from the centre is what they have asked for."
The Travel Network Group says its homeworking proposition offers members: full operational and sales support 7-days a week; 24-hour support line for clients; full administration support, and a comprehensive documentation service.
