Co-operative Travel bags Hinds to plan tour arm
Former Travel 2 managing director Shaun Hinds has been named commercial director of the Co-operative Travel Group.
He will have overall strategic control and management of supply of product, and will instigate the strategic planning required to develop a tour operating arm, the company said.
Hinds, who is due to join in the autumn, said: “The creation of the new Co-operative Travel business is one of the most exciting developments in our industry.
“The business has a legacy of innovation and success, and this role is at the heart of driving commercial strategy as well as building our new ventures to meet the needs of the changing marketplace.”
Co-operative Travel Group managing director Mike Greenacre, said: “I am delighted that Shaun has decided to join us at what is an absolutely pivotal period for the business.
“Shaun’s knowledge and understanding of the travel industry, coupled with his ability for driving new business strategies, will mean that he is instrumental in ensuring that The Co-operative Travel Group goes from strength to strength.”
