Collette Vacations announces an old-fashioned holiday experience
Collette Vacations offers travelers a glimpse of yesteryear – holiday-style – with its new program, An Old Fashioned Christmas. This five-day getaway includes eight meals and takes travelers to the charming Pennsylvania Dutch Country and the Brandywine Valley.
“The creation of this tour has been a long-time in the making,” said Trish Gormican, Collette Vacations’ product manager for the Eastern USA. “Our Heritage of America program has been a top-selling tour for many years, and when travelers return home from it, they always rave about the experience of sharing a meal with an Amish family and learning about their traditions and culture. They’re captivated by their old-fashioned way of life.”
Passengers on Collette’s new holiday tour will visit an Amish farmland, learn about their fascinating history and dine in the home of an Amish family. They will also visit the Farmer’s Market and Kitchen Kettle Complex, where they can purchase hand-made crafts, such as dolls and quilts, and they’ll also visit the Winterthur Estate, located in the Brandywine Valley. Here, they will witness the splendor of the festively decorated Du Pont home and gardens and see the Brandywine River Museum’s annual “A Brandywine Christmas” exhibition.
“From spending time with an Amish family – getting away from technology and everything from our modern society – to finding those handmade crafts that make for wonderful Christmas gifts and witnessing the holiday displays in this beautiful region, this program reflects simplicity and warmth during the holiday season,” Gormican stated. “It doesn’t get any better than that.”
It’s never too late to plan your holiday getaway. Check out the availability on Collette’s November 26 and December 3 departures for An Old Fashioned Christmas! For more information, call 1-800-611-3361.
