Come rain or shine, there’s always golf
The crème de la creme of the travel industry (or some of them at least) showed off their golfing prowess at the annual White Hart Associates LLP Golf day at Camberley Heath golf Club.
The event was blessed with a fantastic day of sunshine and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Some also managed to assist the forthcoming maintenance work at the course by digging up various parts as the rounds progressed.
Winner was Lee Cooper with Andrew Nicholson as the runner up. In addition to generous prizes on the day, both golfers earned places in the Race to Paradise qualifier in November, the winners of which will be flown to the Paradise Coast in Florida for the final.
The weather on the annual Just a Drop golf day in Kent, sponsored by Jetset, could not have been more of a contrast. Due to high winds and almost continuous rain, the event was, for the very first time, abandoned, but not until 120 industry golfers took to the course at Dale Hill.
Despite the inclement weather the spirits of the golfers were not dampened and they raised over £11,500 at the event's charity auction.
TravelMole attended the event and raised just under £1,000 for Just a Drop with its unique Beat the Mole par 3 challenge where only three golfers from the field beat Mole MD Graham McKenzie. The event will be returning to Dale Hill on 5 September 2012.
