Coming soon to Uber: Planes and trains
Uber has ambitions of becoming a fully-fledged travel platform. It is adding the ability to book trains, buses, planes and car rentals on the app.
It will be piloted for UK users this year and then expanded to other countries if successful. The app will integrate with various airline, bus and rail operators and take a commission on each booking. It will announce the partners in the coming months.
Uber says it will help boost app usage in the UK. Uber said it is also looking at integrating hotel booking into the app.
