Comtec on acquisition trail again
Comtec has made a second purchase in as many weeks with the acquisition of web and technical internet specialist Atolis.
This follows a deal to bring web design specialist Jamber into the Comtec group.
Atolis’ clients include Triton and Millington Travel and it will bring a “wealth of internet experience†to Comtec, according to the company.
Its range of technologically advanced Content Management and Customer Relationship Management solutions, as well as data incorporation and integration tools, will enhance current offering for the independent retail sector.
The acquisition will further strengthen the technology supplier’s existing product portfolio in the retail sector, and extend its reach.
It also bolsters Comtec’s web services division offering clients an end-to-end solution for their Internet needs from web design to off-the-shelf technical solutions.
Atolis managing director and co-founder Steve Whiston will join Comtec’s management team, and the staff will be joining as part of the arrangement.
Comtec CEO Simon Powell said: “Comtec and Atolis have been working together for the past eight years and have been instrumental in bringing affordable, relevant and effective technology to the consumer-facing retail trade.
“By formally coming together we deliver new products to our growing customer base. Our immediate plan is to roll out the Atolis ‘Waves’ web solution alongside our own new TravelConnect system.â€
Whiston said: “I am looking forward to integrating the two organisations’ products and I relish the challenge of delivering a wealth of intuitive sales and management resources to the travel industry.â€
