Comtec upgrades dynamic packaging system for agents

Travel technology provider Comtec has enhanced its dynamic packaging technology for travel agents.

The EasySell DP system enables agents to combine live holiday components from low-cost and charter airlines and bedbanks. The technology also allows agents to access viewdata for traditional packages simultaneously.

According to Comtec’s director of product management and technology Howard Sheil EasySell DP is a stopgap measure for the next few months ahead of the company’s launch of a new travel agency system early next year.

Comtec has also achieved Gold Certified status in the Microsoft Partner Programme. The company had to go through rigorous tests to gain the accreditation including proving it is using Microsoft technology to its best advantage for customers.

Sheil said: “They really run the rule over your business. The reason we went for it is because larger customers will want to see it. It shows we’re a serious UK-based software company.”

The programme will also give Comtec advance access to new Microsoft technologies and the opportunity to develop travel applications alongside the US giant.

Comtec will have to undergo the same process in two years to retain its gold status.
